The winter months at the Farmers Arms, Baycliff, usually means a welcoming fire is burning in the bar - here's the couple in charge, Janet and Harold 'H' Gardner.

    The comfortable bar area, with the pool room in the background. Real ales are served, including the award-winning Hartleys XB, from the family brewers Robinsons, of Stockport.

    Homemade food is served six days a week, lunchtimes and evenings, and there is a separate dining area to the back of the bar area. The pub has a pool team, which is a member of the local league. Quiz nights are held fortnightly on Thursday evenings, with proceeds going to local good causes.
