Farmers Arms

Main road, Baycliff LA12 9RP 01229 869446

Built in the 1700's this 18th century dwelling was originally a small farm or smallholding. Dating back to 1851, records show no mention of the Farmers Arms, however, their is mention of two beerhouses in the village. The first mention of a Farmers Arms is to found in Furness & Cartmel Year Book (1882) and is listed as being kept by George Croasdale Brockbank.

Other records do show that the Porter family have been associated with what is now the Farmers Arms up until August 1988 when Eric & Eunice Porter retired.

Laterly the Farmers Arms has undergone a major refit and has reopened it's door's to an enthusiastic reception from the locals of Baycliff. Ian & Sandra Moore have turned the Farmers Arms Baycliff into a very friendly, warm and welcoming pub serving both an excellent food and a well kept pint.
