Finding the Farmer Arms at BaycliffBaycliff is in South Cumbria, in the area known as Low Furness, between the towns of Ulverston and Barrow. It lies on the western shore of Morecambe Bay, four and a half miles from Ulverston, and about 29 miles from the M6. Directions from the M6 Travelling north or south on the M6, leave at junction 36, and follow the signs to Barrow in Furness, along the A590. On reaching Ulverston, cross the first roundabout, by the Booths supermarket and petrol stations. Turn left about a quarter of a mile futher on, immediately after the pelican crossing traffic lights, onto the A5087 Coast Road. Follow the Coast Road out of Ulverston, passing close to the shore near Bardsea. The road twists and climbs through Sea Wood, passes a farm, and reaches Baycliff at the top of the hill. Take the first turn right into Baycliff, and follow the road through the village, bearing right, then left. The village green is reached on the left, with the Farm Shop on the right - turn right after the shop, and the Farmers Arms is a hundred yards up the road. The car park is next to the pub. The journey time from the motorway is about forty minutes. Directions from Barrow in Furness Follow the A5087 Coast Road to Ulverston, and take the first turning left into Baycliff, at the bottom of the hill. Turn first left again, by the Farm Shop, and The Farmers Arms is straight ahead. The journey time from Barrow is about fifteen minutes. Transport Links There is a regular train service to Ulverston, on the Lancaster to Barrow line, with connections at Lancaster to the West Coast main line. There are direct trains from Manchester Airport. The no 11 bus service runs from Ulverston to Barrow along the Coast Road, via Baycliff (Monday to Saturday).
